Fine Motor:
Fine motor skills involve use of the small muscles in the hands, fingers and wrists. These include skills such as: grasping, writing, scissor skills, shoe-tying, and fastening buttons. These skills are needed to for self-care and participation in activities at school and at home. Through occupational therapy (OT), patients can develop and improve these skills.

Please be sure to ask your therapist about purchasing weighted blankets, listening CDs, Interactive Metronome program, thera-Band, and any of the sensori-motor equipment that will facilitate your child’s treatment and well being.
